Puuluup, Estonia's representatives at the Eurovision Song Contest 2024, have been bringing a breath of fresh air to the folk music of their home country for years. Using alternative bowing and drumming techniques as well as electronic equipment, the duo has made the talharpa, known since the early Middle Ages, suitable for clubs, without sacrificing the natural sound of the instrument. The musicians call their sound, which is accompanied by vocals and presented with a great deal of humour, "neo-zombie-post-folk."
