Lucas Santtana, born in Salvador de Bahia in 1970, was an early follower of Tropicalismo. A cultural-political movement that emerged in Bahia in the late 1960s and was musically embodied by Gilberto Gil, Tom Zé and Caetano Veloso. With his post-tropicalist pop and political stance, the singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist keeps the spirit of this movement alive.
